Special Equipment Testing Center’ officially opens in Cambodia, by Chinese company Te Zhong Shebei Jiance Yanjiu Yuan (Cambodia) Co., Ltd.

The centre was opening on March 31, and offers modern testing facilities for elevators, boiler and other pressure vessels, escalators, and heavy lifting machinery, among others. To reduce potential hazards, all of these items require regular inspections.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Chea Vuthy, secretary-general of the Cambodian Investment Committee of The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) and Sat Samy, secretary of state of the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation (MISTI), as well as other government senior officials, company leaders Mr. AI SHENGFU, company technical experts Mr. HE JINGWEI and representatives from Chinese business associations in Cambodia.

Chea Vuthy congratulated and expressed gratitude to Te Zhong Shebei Jiance Yanjiu Yuan (Cambodia) Co., LTD for investing in a special equipment testing centre in Cambodia. The centre will provide essential inspection services for boilers, pressure vessels, elevators, lifting machinery, factory cranes, amusement rides, and cable cars—ensuring compliance with international safety standards. He underlined that the establishment of this centre is a new milestone for Cambodia, contributing to public safety and the well-being of citizens who rely on such equipment.

Sat Samy, Secretary of State for the MISTI, acknowledged that Te Zhong Shebei Jiance Yanjiu Yuan (Cambodia) Co., Ltd will make significant contributions to Cambodia’s industrial sector, playing a key role in advancing technology and innovation in the country. He encouraged the company to continue cooperating with the Royal Government and to prepare for further investment in Cambodia.

He Jing Wei, director of the centre, described Cambodia as being in a “golden stage” of industrial development, but one which requires very specific materials and equipment.

He noted the establishment of the Special Equipment Testing Center has three main objectives: first, to standardize and ensure comprehensive quality inspections of equipment; second, to introduce the latest technologies from China to Cambodia; and third, to train human resources in safety management and the use of several types of specialized heavy machinery.

“We promise to uphold our mission of protecting the safety of Cambodia’s national industry, protecting the environment and ensuring the accuracy of measurements by adhering to the principles of quality [scientific integrity, fairness, accuracy, and efficiency] in our work,” he said.
